SUPERMAX CONTAINMENT BOOM
SuperMax Boom is a high buoyancy curtain oil boom suited to protected and open waters. It may be fitted with a stainless steel top cable as an option for added strength for towing applications. As an added safety feature the galvanized steel ballast chain is enclosed in a reinforced fabric pocket to prevent entanglements and pinch points for operators. The high buoyancy to weight ratio of the boom provides excellent wave conformance and oil retention characteristics. American Marine, a division of Elastec, has been manufacturing quality floating boom and barrier products since 1967. Learn about how Elastec’s oil booms meet ASTM and ISO standards, and OPA90 regulations. Fill out our questionnaire and tell us about your project.
The SuperMax containment boom is supplied with ASTM compliant interchangeable end connectors for rapid coupling of sections. End connectors are fitted with Zinc anodes.
SuperMax features a high buoyancy reserve provided by stable closed cell foam log floats. Manufactured in fully welded PVC materials, this boom is fitted with handles and anchor points, as well as being offered with a variety of accessories.
SuperMax containment boom complies with United States Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) 33.Pt 154. App.C for Rivers and Canals, Inland and Great Lakes. SuperMax II complies with ocean operating environment requirements.
SuperMax boom conforms with ASTM standard F1523 for Calm Water, Calm Water-Current, Protected Water, Open Water.
Optional Accessories: Anchor Sets, Tidal Compensator, Tow Bridle, Marker Lights, Boom Stand Off Units, Repair Kits, Alternative Connectors, BoomVaneâ„¢.
