An intensive, hands-on oil spill workshop. Our Fall Workshop was designed for spill responders who desire in-depth river booming and oil skimmer training. The three-day workshop begins with a full day of classroom orientation at Elastec in Carmi followed by two rigorous booming and skimmer deployment days on the Wabash River in New Harmony, Indiana. The FALL WORKSHOP qualifies as an 8-hour Hazwoper refresher course.

The EARLY BIRD price of the Fall Workshop 2025 is $1,675.00 and includes all workshop events, training and lunches. Travel and lodging are additional. After March 31, 2026, the price will increase to $1,775.00.

In conjunction with the 2026 Fall River Spill Workshop, Elastec offers OPRC OSR Level 2 (IMO Equivalent) course. The purpose of this course is to gain and demonstrate a level of competence and understanding of the weathering process of oil in the marine environment, implement efficient shoreline clean-up using different response techniques, selecting appropriate equipment and participating in oil spill response teams onsite.

It will run Monday, October 5, 2025 – Thursday, October 8, 2026 and the EARLY BIRD price is $2,400.00. After March 31, 2026, the price will increase to $2,500.00. Attendees will receive the OSR Level 2 Training Certificate, Fall Workshop Completion Certificate and 8-hour Hazwoper Certificate.

The 2026 instructor will be Cody Harris of Whitewater Rescue Institute.

Cody is Co-Founder of the Whitewater Rescue Institute (WRI).  At WRI, Cody leads a team of highly trained instructors and responders that specialize in Swiftwater, Technical Rescue and Oil Spill Response.  As an OSRO, WRI provides training, planning and effective response for its various clients.  Cody has responded to numerous spills to fast water throughout the western U.S. and Canada, and developed geographic response plans on over a dozen rivers.  For the past 16 years, WRI has been at the forefront of inland spill response and Cody loves to share what he has learned to make the response community stronger.

Course schedules, and possibly workshop dates can change if we feel the safety of our participants is compromised due to river flooding, weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
