DRUG TERMINATOR
The Elastec Drug Terminator is a portable, drug disposal incinerator for evidence drugs, paraphernalia, and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). It was designed for the on-site disposal of evidence property, prison contraband, and drugs collected during community take-back programs. Law enforcement agencies, prisons, military installations and medical facilities can dispose of drugs by injecting them into a cyclone of fire with the Drug Terminator’s patented Easy-Feed Cartridge. In addition to drugs, the Drug Terminator also burns other non-hazardous substances such as documents, plants, food, and lab materials. Non-combustibles, such as syringes and sharps, are sterilized and can be disposed in accordance with municipal waste requirements.
More efficient than open barrel burning, the intense heat disintegrates the discarded materials into an average of 1% to 3% ash. The drug disposal incinerator assembly is easily moved from one location to another on a dolly-like cart.
The mobile incinerator attaches to a removable head or “open-end” drum as specified by ISO Standards. The measurement of this drum type is standard internationally. ISO 15750, published in 2002, traditionally identifies this drum as being 55 American Gallon.
Incineration is a waste treatment process that involves the combustion of organic substances contained in waste materials. Incineration and other high-temperature waste treatment systems are described as “thermal treatment”. Incineration of waste materials converts the waste into ash, flue gas, and heat. The ash is mostly formed by the inorganic constituents of the waste.

Drug Drop-Off Box
Elastec manufactures drug drop-off boxes that can be used in conjunction with either our Drug Terminator or Mediburn for take-back programs. The boxes can be set up at locations to collect expired and unused prescription drugs so that they can be incinerated. Our drug drop-off boxes can be painted or wrapped with graphics to suit the needs of your location. Can I use this where I am located?

What can I burn in the unit?
Narcotics, pharmaceuticals, paraphernalia, clothing, most evidence, documents, etc.
How much does it burn?
The Drug Terminator is rated at 50lbs/hr but has been known to burn more, depending on the type of material being destroyed.
Is there any smoke?
The Drug Terminator releases some wood or charcoal smoke when it is first started, but smoke emission is significantly reduced when operating at temperature.
Is any PPE required?
Appropriate personal protective equipment is always recommended, including but not limited to gloves, protective eye wear, and appropriate respiratory protection for operators.
How long will the steel drum last?
This depends on the frequency and duration of the burns. The steel barrel will eventually rust and burn through at which point it will need to be replaced. Stainless steel drums are available.
How long does the unit run with a 20lb bag of charcoal?
25 to 30 minutes.
Can I add more charcoal once the unit is running low on fuel?
Yes, using the Easy-Feed cartridge.
What is the lifespan of the unit?
10 plus years with regular maintenance.
What are the annual running costs for the unit?
This depends on the number and duration of burns, the costs will be;
a) fuel (a bag of charcoal per burn or equivalent in wood)
b) electricity for 45 minutes approx. allowing cooling time (per burn)
c) servicing of filters
d) any other parts, such as the blower or drum as necessary
What components need servicing or replacing over time?
Blowers, air hose and spark screen.
What is the difference between a SmartAsh and a Drug Terminator?
The Drug Terminator has a self-closing heavy stainless steel flap which allows the Easy-Feed cartridge to inject materials into the barrel while burning.
What maintenance is required?
The unit is very straightforward, simple maintenance can be conducted by the end user. Air filters should be cleaned before each use, and the barrel clamps oiled.
